The Chinese Christian Church of New Jersey is seeking a pastor to serve in its Taiwanese congregation Responsibilities: Shepherd the Taiwanese congregation, which comprises around 70 members. Qualifications: Preferred candidates have a strong grasp of Taiwanese culture, hold a Divinity or Theology master's degree, and possess relevant experience in serving North America churches is a plus. CCCNJ (www.cccnj.org) is an independent church that does not belong to any denomination. It has been established for 60 years and aims to spread the gospel and train disciples. It consists of Mandarin, English and Taiwanese congregations. The Taiwanese congregation was established twenty-five years ago. General Description of the Position:
The Pastor of the Taiwanese Congregation holds a divine calling to shepherd the Taiwanese Congregation within the Chinese Christian Church of New Jersey (CCCNJ). As a member of the Board of Elders, they play an essential role in the administration to ensure the alignment of all church practices with the Bible and CCCNJ By-laws.
Key Responsibilities:
Ministry Leadership: Ministering to the Taiwanese congregation with a focus on spiritual
guidance and growth.
Strategic Planning: Developing and presenting annual and long-term ministry plans to the
Board of Elders.
Preaching: Delivering sermons, including at the pulpit on Sundays, to inspire and
edify the congregation.
Pastoral Care: Undertaking responsibilities for visitation, caring, and counseling to
congregants.
Education Oversight: Overseeing the Taiwanese Christian Education Ministry to ensure the
effective impartation of spiritual knowledge.
Discipleship Training: Taking charge of disciple training initiatives to foster spiritual growth
within the congregation.
Doctrinal Integrity: Interpreting biblical truths to guard against heresies and maintaining
doctrinal integrity.
Unity Preservation: Admonishing members of the body of Christ to preserve church unity and
harmony.
Sacramental Responsibilities: Conducting the Holy Sacraments following established practices.
Collaborative Work: Working closely with the Elder and coworkers within the Taiwanese
congregation.
This role encompasses a broad spectrum of responsibilities, aiming to lead, nurture, and uphold the spiritual well-being of the Taiwanese Congregation while actively contributing to the overall mission and values of CCCNJ.
