Meaning: A narrow escape from a dangerous or lethal situation.

Chris : Hi, Lucia! I know you’ve just bought a new car. Is it good?
Lucia : Oh yes. It’s value for money. I’m driving my daughter to school every morning. This would save her thirty minutes at least.
Chris : I see. But I know that her school is at a steep hill. Is it easy to drive there?

Lucia : Oh yes, since you mentioned! The other day, while I was waiting for the traffic lights to turn green on a slope, the car in front of me rolled back suddenly.
Chris : Oh my goodness! What did you do then?
Lucia : There was nothing I could do. Luckily, it stopped just inches from the front of my car. It was a close shave!
